I wish you all the best. I do have a couple of closing comments, and then I'll be off the thread unless I buy back in.
It is an odd feeling to be out of this stock now-- after having been so optimistic. Why, I even had this one listed as my favorite stock on my SI Personal Profile--and indeed, it was my largest holding for a couple of weeks there. But I have to say, that annoucing bad news only a couple hours before the close of trading on a Friday stinks. I had stated on this thread that I intended to hold my last 100k shares until the annoucment--and instead of a report on the samples my faith is rewarded with a warning!
Oh well, I have no right to complain--I watched a gain get halved, many of you watched a loss increase, my heart goes out to you. Fortunately, stocks will come and go, but over time I am sure that many of you will do very well, if not from GE, from some of your other ideas.
I've appreciated very much all your comments, and maybe I will be back. If today turns out to have only been a little shake out before a terrific run-up, congrats to whoever got the shares that I sold (yes, that lowest dip of the day was me!) Since I could not get my brokerage to accept my trade on the internet, I had to call in. It was sort of crummy--in the time that it took to dial in MINE had lost another two cents, and I even got out a penny lower than the quote when the woman entered my order. I joked with her that somebody who knows more than me was buying all he could get his hands on today!
One final comment--if GE did that today just to shake people out on a Friday afternoon, I think it is terrible, for shame! But, with pennies, let the buyer beware.... |
