Yeah, I'm an old "space cadet," and we might recognize each other's space handles. Don't have astro shots on my page, but I guess DGIV is spacey enough :-) As far as IRIDF, I wish them the best, but at $5 per minute, or whatever is their break-even point, they will need all the luck they can get. Great technology, not such a good business model, IMHO. I favor Orbcomm's messaging model, and the fact that Orbital Sciences own their own ride with Pegasus. Maybe the international trade can subsidise IRIDF's costs. That's the way we got these expensive constellations up and running before -- with Uncle Sam's subsidies. Commercial space is an interesting proposition, let's see how it works. As for me, I am staying away from this baby, and wish the best to those who are in it. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.
