I can see how that would be so for your family. And your daughter is not eating like little children who are growing 4-6 inches a year. My children are ravenous, and we go through about 4 gallons of milk a week. A ten pound bag of apples might last two weeks, most likely one. I can buy the 20lb cartons of oranges and not have one go bad. I believe my boys appetite will only increase, but the girls will reach close to their maximum growth when they are 13-14 and then their appetites will diminish- if they are anything like their mother. But I can tell you I still remember when I was in 6th grade I would commonly eat 1/2 a loaf of bread for my afternoon snack.

But we are trying to reduce the number of "things" we buy, except for books. I love having a nice library for the kids. As my kids are going to a brand new school we actually have about 4 times the number of books the school library has.
