Tale of the Shaolin Trader and the Hick.... There was the hick and his 'longings'. But he desired more and set himself upon the path of wisdom. Upon his journey, he met the Shaolin Trader. The hick, sensing wisdom, said ,"Master, what is the secret to true happiness?. The Master replied, "True happiness is being on the profitable side of a trade". "But Master", cried the hick, "Valuations are so high and value is hard to find. When I find value, 10,000,000 bought it an hour before me." The Master replied, "Grasshoppa, joy is often not found in what 10M did before you. Where 10M have been before you, perhaps you should seek the Tree of Knowledge of Long and Short". "But Master", cried the hick, "Is not shorting an evil thing? Everywhere I go, they speak ill of shorts." The Shaolin Trader replied, "In the world of Market Forces, there must be Yin and Yan. This is wisdom. For every over-exubuerance there must be a short - it is the natural order. For Seekers of quick gold must be reined in, or the market rises too quickly and Chaos will surely reign." "But Master, this is the 'Bull of all Bulls', Is this not unwise?" "Grasshoppa, this too, shall pass. Taste of the fruit of the quick short but do not dwell there long for you shall surely be trampled. Remember, wisdom is knowing when to be Yin and when to be Yan. When you know the difference then you shall be truly enlightened." |
