Re: OT Upgrades

See Nirvana's web site at nirv.com for info on upgrades. I never used OT before version 3.1 but I have to believe that 2.5 is pretty rusty at this point. The 32-bit version (3.2) is much more stable as well as much faster than the old 16-bit code. This is very important since large runs can be quite time consuming.

As far as I can tell, nothing compares to OT in its ability to sift through mountains of chart data and bring the opportunity stream into focus. Other tools enable more precise and personalized analysis of a given set of charts but as I've stated before here no amount of analysis will help if you're looking at the wrong chart. OT's role is to help narrow things down so that you can focus on the most promising opportunities rather than wasting time with dead/resting issues or trying to chase those that have already made their move.

As far as making money with OT, the current version comes with two excellent instructional videotapes. In addition, Nirvana has a new tape available for $49.95 which I also found very useful. I've found OT far easier to learn than either SuperCharts or MetaStock (the videos really help).

But OT is just a tool and the key to using it effectively is to use it as a tool rather than a black box. I'd certainly like to see more discussion here from others about how to use it most effectively.
