Investor's business daily carries on every Friday's edition a
breakdown of leading funds by leaders for 4 weeks, 8 weeks, etc.
It will be interesting to see if we can get the funds moving to the
point that they become leaders in the short term.

Also, this same newspaper (I realize that most U.S. investors are
aware of it), carries a daily mutual fund section that is quite
detailed and indicates funds by sectors and daily performance. They
include the golds as well, which of course have been leaders
the last couple of days. Once they begin to take over the leadership for
the year-to-date gains, that will attract a lot of attention and
buying. I can recall that in 1992-93 this scenario played out, and
many gold funds doubled or better over the course of a year. There are
funds that did a lot better, e.g. United Services Gold (South
African), and with the S.AFr. so oversold, that might happen again
this time around.

I haven't done it in awhile, but it would be interesting to learn
from the funds re: status of money flowing into them. A rally should
be accompanied by increase in money switching into the funds, of course.

Regards

Dan
