D. Swiss,

I mischaracterized Herb Greenberg's bearish argument concerning DELL. It is not based on bloated inventories, but on "box maker" price wars and loss of profit margins. See below:

"Enthusiasm for all techs due to MSFT is misguided. MSFT is benefiting from collapse in average selling prices, which leads to more units, which as a monopoly is key for them. So their sales rise. But a collapse in the average selling price is not good for box makers. No one is thinking! If the price of computers fell to $400 each, more operating systems would be sold. Do you think that would be good for DELL and CPQ? Of course not.''

Hope this helps,

Jim Fink
