Sony (no bologna) is fine too. It is just that the real boogeyman on the stock so far is that TCI couldn't afford the roll-out. Sony was originally proposed as a way to help. This is another way i.e. get companies to pony up in advance in order to get their services distributed. These two deals aren't whole thing - as they article points out - it is a transition in thinking about how to fund the roll-out.
Maybe Sony will buy but I don't really see what they get from buying that they don't get with the alliance.
