Why SoftQuad should change the name of HMAS? and move on...

(for the same reasons why Microage just did...)

3/28/98--"...Think innovative, think convenient, think friendly, think at the pinnacle, think Pinacor -- a new kind of distribution experience.

At Solutions '98, MicroAge today revealed Pinacor, Inc., the new name and corporate identity for its distribution business. The name Pinacor conveys the essence of superlative quality that is the heart of the new company's mission: to provide the best service made possible by the best people in the business.

Pinacor President Chris Koziol noted that the Pinacor name reflects the company's commitment to reaching the pinnacle of convenience and innovation in serving customers..."

HoTMetaL is an HTML authoring tool and will always be associated accordingly...with XML-enabling, LDAP, DHTML, CCS2, FX, Power Pack, Application Server, Site Maker....HoTMetaL will simply always be perceived as HoTMetaL web authoring tool in the dark red box with insignificant U.S. market share...and not what it actually is...simply, the most efficient and effective competitive advantage in the history of the world......new name, new packaging, and a new stealth marketing strategy...simply hire away whomever is that person...

SoftQuad simply must establish this product in the mind of the consumer, media, industry...that it is unequivocally the only way for [all] internet-bound and existing main, mini, micro software publishers and anyone possessing legacy databases ad infinitum...that XML is the future, and SoftQuad is the only company with that hardware and software and browser and operating system independent XML solution, today...or tomorrow you will be a dinosaur...(.).

new packaging, new name, new perspective, new blood, or again, SoftQuad may emerge as their own most formidable competitor...

some possible names for the considerable present value product(s) SoftQuad is currently in possession of?

Well, the words "XML" should figure prominently and the priceless review of Bill Machrone, VP Technical, [all of] Ziff-Davis needs to be emblazoned across the front of all ads (print, ibanner, radio, cable,...] and packaging..viz a viz sq.com PROMINENTLY AND NOW !!!!!!!!!!! [note: if they don't a merger or considerable marketing/investment strategic alliance will simply have to occur immediately < 90 days?]...

...another superior? revenue source for SoftQuad would be to author several XML primers, intermediate, technical books for QUE, SAMS, et al as this will and is emerging as the biggest growth sector within the already burgeoning computer book publishing industry...

SoftQuad could/should? create an eCommerce annex book site, along with existing eCommerce software sales, and on amazon.com, et al with banner ads on Yahoo!.com, Wired Magazine, ... e.g.

XML will prove to be the most significant and most powerful competitive advantage in the history of computing and of your Company's existence...SoftQuad=XML, your Internet Solutions Provider, SoftQuad=your future......

one year from now XML=SoftQuad should be firmly established in everyone's mind as an identity....whenever the words XML are seen or heard, SoftQuad is the first thought...unfortunately, or fortunately? the medium IS the message...is reality...is the bottomline...

...if SoftQuad doesn't pursue this strategy we have a feeling NetObjects will come out with something curiously and coincidentally close to what we just suggested...
