Patrick-Food for thought for anyone holding NSCP....

While the information technology professional saw Netscape as the
primary vendor of corporate Web server software in the first two quarters of
1996, Microsoft has captured the lead in terms of mindshare in the third
quarter, according to a survey conducted by Computerworld of 1,000 IT
professionals at medium and large organizations in the US. Microsoft has
taken the lead by 9 percentage points over Netscape as a future vendor of
corporate Web server software, according to the Computerworld survey.
Mindshare is important because it influences future buying patterns. As
Microsoft continues to capture a larger percentage of mindshare over Netscape,
Microsoft should capture a larger percentage of sales as well.
How is Microsoft closing the gap on Netscape and changing the future
purchasing decisions of IT professionals? How does this impact the future for
Netscape and Microsoft?

available to comment on Microsoft's rapid gain over Netscape's market
mindshare in the Web server software industry.
