I'd get current (version 3.2) first.

As I said, the videos provide a painless way to get up to speed (not sure what material was provided with 2.5) but the speed improvement from 3.1 to 3.2 is pretty dramatic and I'd imagine it would be even more so coming from 2.5. OT is very I/O-intensive and 16-bit I/O in Win95 is very slow. That's why going to the 32-bit version makes such a dramatic improvement in speed. Plus, you can actually use your machine while OT 3.2 grinds away in the background. Because of the way 16-bit code works in Win95, I found that I could do nothing while 3.1 was running.

You mentioned you were a SuperCharts user (as am I). Assuming you are using your Omega data as "user data" for OT you'll need to be sure you get OT 3.2 release 3 (upgrade downloadable from the Nirvana web site). The original 3.2 release would hang trying to read Omega data. Second, I've found that copying the Omega CD-ROM data to my harddrive for all of the issues I'm actively monitoring greatly speeds things up.
