Well Tom, i told you before i left on vacation, i was sick of the game companys. ATVI's and BROD's announcements last week were 1 of the reasons. Having games like "The Deer Hunter" and "Myst" out sell Quake 2 is another.
I have to admit, my timin was great as far as when to leave<g>. It looks like you have had your hands full, i'm taking another vacation in may, now you are warned. I see i'm now the owner of 100 shares of ATVI,for the same price i paid for them last year. I haven't decided if i'm going to buy more yet. I really can't figure this industry out, the best way to play it has been on the short side. Now we have ATVI,MPRS,THQI,GTIS,BROD,THDO,etc all stuck in a trading range, the only plays left are ERTS and Edios. I wouldn't mess with ERTS, they will probably announce a Michael Jordan game, and Edios is already fading. ATVI is a good buy at these levels,i'm just getting awfully jaded. It's ironic that companys like TDFX, QSNDF,TMSR,SRSL,etc have gone up over 100%, some even 200% in the past few months. I bought some of them the same time i bought ATVI. I've done real well with them and continue to hold them. It's hard to understand how these companys are doing so well, and the game companys aren't. With E3 coming up we can at least hope to see the 12's again. I wish i was around to pick some up in the 9's,i better not wish too hard though,i just might get my wish.
I suppose BattleZone, Pitfall and Interstate 76 Arsenal will help next Qtr's numbers. I don't know how the Dark Reign expansion pack will do, Starcraft has gone gold. As far as the Hexen 2 expansion pack goes, the previews look real good. I don't know if you need to own Hexen 2 to play it. Hex 2 didn't sell that well, and i really doubt people will fork over extra bucks just to play it. Hopefully Pitfall will be a great console game, i don't play them, nor do my kids. Battlezone is still getting great feedback in Usenet, i missed playing it when i was away. One thing i didn't miss was the stock market. Nothing like taking a few days off<g>
