Saul, they had over $47M in A/R on 12/31/97. Almost all of that will show up in Q1 as revenue. I think this quarter is in the bag and has been for a while. I don't think this promotion has anything to do with "desparation".

I've been following MRVC for 6 quarters now and they only preannounced the one time. I can't say whether they ever did before or not, and I see nothing fishy about it at all.

Are you short? The only thing wrong with MRVC is it's perception and that is about to change.

No, I see from another post you are a "big" shareholder. How big is big, Saul? Several people on these threads appear to control 10K+ shares, and I'm sure thats still small potatoes.

Management didn't pre-announce the inventory buildup, because they didn't think to do so, period. When you are very close to the situation, things can look much different. They were moving away from the OEM model anyway, so they will just sell that inventory another way. I like it when management does their job technically and only make their mistakes dealing with the investment community. Better that than a bad ASIC design, or an ill conceived product.
