Thanks for the on-the-scene report.

The European markets seem to think things are going to get better.

I also wonder if the Euro will be well managed. One strong hand (Greenspan, Volcker) has seemed to work best in the US. Can it be that way with the EU?

I think Germans are well advised to be wary.

Gold backing will certainly put the Euro in a class by itself in this world of fiat money. Will they do it? I have my doubts.
