Good Evening! Matt,
I guess it's too late to change my name?
Like yourself, every new day brings a learning experience before me! Sometimes I learn a little from it, sometimes a lot, and sometimes the big "ZERO!"
One learning ( and I am just starting to understand it a very tiny bit!) is that I have come to realize that most people that I have met in the world, have a very good idea of what their limitations, negative aspects, and personal; drawbacks are! -----Why? Then is this the case?----Possibly because from the time most people are learning to take their first step, we are being told all the things that we can't do or unable to do!----Yes! Basically a good solid and daily reinforcement of how inept and useless we are!
In fact it doesn't take much looking to find it! My Dad that will be 82 years of age, has been driving every imaginable vehicle , in every type of whether since he was 18!!! Now! Because he has such a wealth of experience ( in life) he is being told exactly what he was told when he was 15 years old! Namely! Bill you can't drive a car, quite simply because of your age!
So! Let's see! When your 15 your not old enough to drive a vehicle! I wonder what the right age is? How old is old enough? HHMMmm.??
Is it 94 or 167? Who knows?
I guess my point is, that no matter how hard we try, how much natural born talent we have, how hard we work to improve, there always seems to be this influence out there with someone telling some else all the things that they are incapable of doing!
It's taking me many years to come to this first step of this realization!
I choose to the best of my ability to focus on the good and positive things that people are trying to do and achieve in their lives!
Don't get me wrong or misunderstand me! If I initially focus on the positive, but someone is trying to constantly undermine me, or others that are trying to focus on the positive aspect of things ( with a clear and obvious intent to mess with our minds, investment or well being) I am also prepared to do ( legally) what ever it takes in the spirit of fair play to defend the good and positive aspects of my belief or value system!
EXAMPLE! If someone appears to be giving the signal that they want to rip my heart out! Provided there is time, I will attempt to focus on the positive and try to turn the situation around in a suitable and positive scenario for both parties!
If I feel that I have tried all the positive reinforcement that the time and situation will allow, then I will do what ever it takes to defend myself!
That's when an eye for eye kicks in! If they are trying to rip my heart out, in efforts to defend my self ( both body and soul) I would have no qualms in reaching down their throat and ripping their heart out! ( Just a figure of speech! Never have done such a thing, nor do I plan to!)
On most days if I have had the proper rest, etc, I try to take this learning with me and try to wear it on my shoulder!
If I can't say something , positive, nice or something that will bring a smile or glow to someone's face, then I try not to do or say anything!
So! If I can't reinforce a positive, then I do not want to reinforce a negative! ( Probably the rest of the world has already done that jesture for them very early on in their day!)
I have considered myself very fortunate! I have met many, many , very astute, sincere, caring people on the threads!
The one thing that appears to be the downfall of once some very fine people is "EGO!" Anytime I have seen an "EGO" take over a human being, it is quite a sad thing to see develop.
Each and every one of us is special in our own way! And there is not another MATT, or DLEE, or CHERYL, or BRAD, or anyone like them in the world!----But! The minute any feels that they are somehow more special or more worthy then their other fellow man?--Well! In my own opinion, that is just the dark side at work!
The title of this thread, really should be MR. DLEE's World!!!!
I was away for a few weeks, and when I came back I found that this thread had been started! When I first saw it, I had to kneel down and take a few deep breaths ( just so I wouldn't start inflating my "EGO")......
MATT! You are one fine human being! The only advice that I can share with you right now is if you plan on getting your drivers license you may have to wait for a long, long, time, because in certain parts of Canada 82 is not old enough! ( Can you even guess what the retiring pension age must be here? HHHMMMmmm.?? 189??).
Have a great week at school! You young whipper snapper! ( I heard that on an old cowboy movie!).
Best Regards,
