I was hoping you had something in mind on how to put it to good use. I've been trying out some ideas in Wow and Metastock (the formula for scans in WOW and Metastock is simply "vol(10,10)" and the values match those in the QP scan), but I haven't come up with anything earth-shattering, mind-boggling or even intriguing. I played around with an entry signal at 0 and an exit signal when volatility was high, but profit testing didn't show great results. "TA from A to Z" says that Chaikin suggests using a "moving average penetration or trading band system" with the volatility indicator. With Bollinger band systems, I've had to add some sort of volatility indicator to prevent lots of signals when the bands are close and volatility is low, but I always used standard deviation to measure volatility.

P.S. Thanks for the ":7:2". That cleans up the output.
