Here's more of TEK's offerings. Anybody see where DIVI might come in handy?..............................

Tektronix will use this year's NAB exhibition to demonstrate a prototype of their new 8-VSB broadcast measurement set. Also exhibited will be the first fully-digital HDTV waveform monitor, the WFM1125, and the PSC1125 parallel-to-serial converter.

The MPEG-2 4:2:2 Profile server, the world's most powerful, flexible and popular server with 12,000 channels shipped, will showcase at the Tektronix booth feeding eight on-air channels. The Profile MPEG-2 server doubles the broadcast capacity of the Profile PDR200 and lowers the cost of storage in on-air applications.

Tektronix will also exhibit a studio-quality MPEG-2 4:2:2P Codec for streaming high-quality video data over telecommunications networks. This product provides both analog or digital audio and video i/o and provides video facilities new means of sharing and distributing material.

The new MPEG-2 4:2:2P Codec enables users to move material between facilities more easily than ever before with less bandwidth than uncompressed codecs and at higher quality than the previous generation of JPEG codecs. The product provides a compressed digital, standards-based alternative to the traditional proprietary or uncompressed means of transporting video.

Established Products on Show

Tektronix will exhibit industry standards support and interoperability between products by demonstrating the exchange of finished material between the Lightworks V.I.P4500 nonlinear editor and the Profile PDR200 video file server. Exchange of simple EDLs between editing solutions such as the V.I.P and EditStar newsroom software will also be shown. First demonstrated at IBC '97, the PQA200 picture quality analyzer, based on Sarnoff Corporation's JND Metrix(TM) technology, will demonstrate measurement of the picture quality of compressed video. Also shown will be the MTS200 series MPEG test systems, the NewStar newsroom automation equipment, and Grass Valley switchers and routers.
