Obviously we all wish you well but whether or not you pray to the water cooler or the fabricated god in the historical anachronism represented by the Bible, it will not change the outcome. Giving credit to God for the certain event, the set of all possible outcomes, is a convenient scapegoat for monotheistic cults which requires no further discussion.

All creation stands before us and that's where mankind is destined to go. As I said, I do not need personal immortality since I take comfort in knowing that our kind will conquer death in a relatively short period of time (10 thousand years or so) and continue on the path to discovery out into the universe. That's the gift we were given and we shouldn't squander it. Maybe there's a filtering going on right now: those who are unsuitable to move forward are those who accepted the mystical fabrications of ancient cults and selfish notion of being saved; those who move forward are those who respect creation as it has been presented to us and realize that we can't possibly be alone in this universe, so we search for those with whom we can share knowledge and discovery.

In the end, perhaps we discover that beings who started down the same path as us created our universe and it will be our turn to pass the torch and create a better one. Perhaps in the end we find God, the real God, that which created the universe(s). Not one of the infinite possible fabrications of our mind but the real thing.
