Ed,

Regarding % return on equity: there is no quarrel with your approach to calculating the return. Its certainly one way of doing it. "On the other hand", when I start the year I usually dedicate a given amount of money toward a strategy. If that strategy's discipline calls for exiting positions without providing replacements then I have no choice but to be in cash. But the amount I start with is always the denominator for the calculation. I believe it is an important litmus test of any system to balance the return of equity to the return on equity.

How do you account for cash when calculating your returns when there are so few pitbull stocks available?

BTW, are you getting your selections from the PB site or are you plowing through IBD each week.

My guess regarding IBD's web site remaining in beta format is the differences between all of their publications data that supposedly emanate from the same source. I recall years ago when O'neil was on FNN, a question from the cable audience regarding the very point you made about the lack of consistency between the weekly Daily Graphs and IBD. It seems they are still trying to clear up the problem only now they have the website to add to the confusion. Sorry I just got carried away.

Ralph
