Kevin, I thought the Apple OS vs. Microsoft Windows game was over! Your article is a very interesting read, and I'm impressed by your long-term perspective on the industry.

However, I think several contributions have been made here that you may have overlooked.

For one, John Lee supports your bullish outlook for Apple's stock price based on its low market valuation relative to other computer makers. He also lets others know that "Smart Money" magazine has an article on Apple- which I will make sure to read.

Clam Clam is positive on Apple as well. He points out the value of Apple's "intuitive" operating system and reminds us of Oracle's previous interest in acquiring Apple. Perhaps Oracle IS still interested.

Finally, Jeff Woodard makes an interesting point about how Netscape, with its acquisition last week of Collabra, has probably increased the pressure on IBM to make something happen with Apple. Things sure don't look so good for IBM right now.

Kevin, you mentioned the agreements Apple has with the other computer makers. I am not familiar with the specifics or extent of these agreements. I know Compaq is putting together an innovative line of computers for the consumer as part of their "computers for every family member" strategy. If Compaq were to start selling computers with Apple's OS, I would probably be a buyer again.
