MONTECHRISTO: Rest assured MM's and the traders on the desks will move inventory among themselves. What you have to watch is the difference between a brokerage house MM such as Merrill-Lynch protecting and making a market in a stock which is big play with some restrictions on the actual trade practices (such as brokers having to hold longer than 30 days) and the guys actually making the trades on the BB desks.

BB Traders have no requirement to hold period. So he can buy and sell for his account at the same time he trades for you and others IN ANY SEQUENCE HE WANTS. This is NOT permitted (generally) on the big boards.

He can have five orders on his desk to execute up or down for the same stock and is allowed to execute in any order -- which means if he is holding shares on his own -- YOU ARE COMPETING AGAINST THE EXECUTOR!

Like shooting craps -- odds are in the favor of the house. (I still prefer the odds of the BB.)
