One interesting point is that the year-over-year earnings are up for HMAR; they are off in terms of meeting analyst estimates (and probably their own estimates as well).

I have no doubt that the drillers will beat year-over-year numbers as well, and probably by a large margin on average. For short term movements in the stocks, though, I do have doubts as to whether the analyst estimates had come down sufficiently to enable the drillers (particularly the shallow water and land drillers) to beat those expectations.

This doesn't matter so much to me since I have a longer term perspective, but I don't like seeing the value of my holdings drop any more than anyone else does.
