My wife is a co-founder of Viasoft. She started the company in 1983. They developed quality software for CASE that never found a market sufficient to cover their development and other costs until the Y2K scare came along. They have the most stable and deepest technology of all the Y2K mainframe vendors and it's unlikely anyone will catch up. Viasoft is successfully leveraging their technology to become a much bigger player in the consulting business. They just reported a 92% increase in pre-tax profits and that is likely to continue for the next 3 years. After that, they should maintain growth similar to other mainframe consulting companies. It's a great company, but the stock is substantially overvalued.
