Have you ever thought about the Double edge sword nature of this type of management ?

I believe that the leaders at OXHP had a lot of their compensation tied to the stock price too.

Sometime the best business decesion is not the best thing to do for the stock price. For instance, using CASH to buy back stock at very high valuations. (MSFT stoped using its precious cash to buy stock about 4 months or 20-40% ago) If and / or If hard times hit, cash can keep a company out of big trouble.

But, it keeps the stock going higher. This is not intended to be the start of a long discussion,
I am just pointing out that managing the Company and Managing the stock price can be two unrelated objectives short term,(short term meaning less than 1-3 years)
