Dear twister: I don't know what the marketplace wants anymore. I delivered the $800 NC at Javaone and now they tell me it has to be $400 because they will buy the $800 PC from the borg instead. Imagine, a $400 computer (wiping sweat off brow). It wasn't long ago when the cheapest computer we sold was $10000. Those were the good old days <sigh>. Well, anyways, we've still got the Java ring. They'll never take that away from us!
Lets see what we have for email this morning on my Javastation. Well, the first one is from Gosling, our chief java guru, calling me a moron again. I really wish he would stop doing that.
These Javastation's are great, they don't have that noisy fan of the workstation I used to use. I really don't understand why our employees don't want to use them.
Uh, hang on here for a sec Twister, I've got Lou Gerster on line 1.
Hello Lou, what did you think of Javaone?
Ah huh, Ah huh.
Of course Lou. We are totally committed to handing over control of Java to the proper standards body. We just have to make sure Java doesn't get ruined by the borg so we'll have to keep on setting the Java standard here at Javasoft until the forces of evil have been eliminated.
Thanks Lou. Yeah, hockey practice went well but I think I pulled my groin again. Goodbye, and we'll talk to you later Lou.
Sorry about that twister. That idiot Gerstner actually thinks we are going to give up control of Java. What does he think we are spending all that money on R&D for? To give it away to him for nothing?
