I read in an article that the Gallium Arsenide market was growing at a compound annual rate of 40% a year and that Vitesse's new fab was the first 6-inch wafer fab for GaAs semiconductors. The bigger the wafers they can produce chips on, the better the company will be able to garner economies of scale. As for Zoran, they are a semiconductor company that produces chips for DVD machines, and every market research firm is saying that the DVD market will explode over the next 3-5 years.
