I am taking the time to copy out these selected passages. Providing links would be simpler, but I do not want to "finger" any individual and possibly get him/her in trouble with the webmistress. The names of the posters and their targets will be blanked out (although not the terms of abuse employed).
Please bear in mind that most of the authors excerpted below were themselves responsible for getting others kicked off SI temporarily or permanently. (I have no personal axe to grind here, having never -- knock on wood! -- been kicked off or even warned, and having never engaged in any communication with any of the contributors to this anthology.)
One final note: some excerpts employ "cuss words," while others do not. The essence is not in the "cuss words" themselves, but in how they are employed.
Category One: "Low Class Abuse"
This kind of writing seems to thrive on penny-stock threads, thus providing yet one more argument against buying penny stocks.
1. You, the schmuck, pretend to be the voice of reason. Reason my ass!!! The only thing dishonest around here are people like you and other shortsellers. You and your idiotic shortscums are whole bunch of rats, self-serving individuals. You hypocrite dog!!!...You, a pile of dogshit spreading lies, falsehoods. I will attack all lies, hypocrisy, falsehood.
2. You've been awful quiet since all of your BS 'insider' lies and hype proved to be just that! And here you return rearing your ugly head spewing more obvious BS....Please take the time to peruse the reg of Chapter 11 then give it another try smarty. Better yet, why don't you sit on your butt buddy's, XXX's, lap and have him read it to you.....Later scumbug and let us know when you're ready to repent and tell the real story.
3. ...You are a mindless, thoughtless, 3rd lieutenant, junior grade of an idiot sleazeball who has been thrown off of this service 5 times in 2 weeks....My bet is that you'll get caught unawares with your pants around your knees when the price of XXXXcompany runs you over....My gut feeling is that you're just a bored, passive aggressive sicko..,
Category Two: "Upper Class Abuse"
Usually characterized by aggrieved self-pity and highfalutin language.
1. Your methods of communication are genuinely repulsive. Tone, content, grammar,spelling, respect for the people whom you address. All of it is sort of disgusting. And this means you are probably quite basically a disgusting person. Can't you retire to a dark, web-lined closet somewhere and take your enjoyment manually by yourself?
Comment by jbe: Is that last sentence more "pleasant" because the author made a ponderous effort to avoid using a well-known expression for the act he describes?
2. (A composite, from two posts, in chronological order.)
You are free to your own judgment. I would only point to XXX's post in which he luxuriated in his ability to cast unsubstantiated slurs against my character.I think, given his post, my case is self-evident. It is indeed telling that the people who have asssaulted my intellect have cited no examples where I am wrong....Human scum like XXX who assault with impunity -- and care not to justify their rationale -- are capable of causing much evil in this world. I suspect you are a happy onlooker as his ilk conducts their periodic feeding frenzies............I have been slandered and insulted with no evidence provided for my alleged failings. I, on the other [hand], document others' errors...Enjoy your feeding frenzy -- as did Robespierre as he smiled when Danton was led to the guillotine! Quite frankly, XXXX, you strike me as a shallow individual - but that's a long way from the worst of the inadequacies of some people on this thread.
I have a third category -- Ideological Abuse -- but it will have to wait until a later time. My son needs the computer to do something important.
