The x86-Alpha translator runs all 32-bit x86 off the shelf software. Check the DEC PR on their web site. It contains testimonials from their beta users describing the apps they run. If you have 16-bit software, you have to use an interpreter from Insignia Solutions. Byte didn't mention any performance specs for their product. It must be slower than the translator, so it probably runs at 486 speed.
