Hello Investor Relations (Lorival?),
I appreciate your fast response to questions I sent last week...you have really boost my understanding of Telebras and the upcoming privatization, and my confidence in my investments. I help maintain a TBR chat board on the internet and any information you help me with is posted for others to understand.
I have a couple more questions I'm hoping you can help me with.
1) In your response to me last week you stated:
>>2 ) Advisor contracts for evaluation of Telebras signed on February 27 with BNDES.<<
I checked the news around the 27th and found nothing indicating the contracts were signed. I'd like to clarify that the contracts you're referring to are the advisor contract with the Brasilcom group for the privatization of Telebras.
2) The following news was released last Friday:
>>Denver, 27 - Telecommunications minister, S‚rgio Motta, confirmed yesterday that Brazilian telecoms' privatization auctions should begin next April 10, when the envelops containing international groups' bids will be open. <<
Is this referring to the actual bids for the various Telebras spin-offs? It was my understanding per the news below that we're still trying to pre-qualify bidders. Can you please clarify.
>>BRASILIA, March 13 (Reuters) - Brazil in April plans to prequalify companies interested in the privatization of federal telecoms holding Telebras (SAO:TEL_.P), officials said Friday. "The idea is to register them and find out how many are interested," said a government spokesman, quoting Communications Minister Sego Motta.<<
3) If the advisor contracts are actually signed, can you speculate when we might see the final details on the handling of the ADR's?
Thank you again for your time...by answering my questions, you are helping clarify this confusing process for many of us in the USA.
