I followed your reasoning ... and have no quibble with it ... with the exception of the following snippet:

How does one arrive at a bimodal distribution? Are the peaks at May 98 and Mar 99 due to the "planned end" of Phase III and the "possible early end" of Phase III (as in CYPB)?


If so, I would speculate that the two "modes" are not equal.


If that's *not* what you meant, then would you explain the derivation of your bimodal months?
