Inspector,

Give you an idea why you wan't WAN.

With LAN, you could speak to and see your working buddy across the room from you.

With LAN, you could speak to and see your working buddy upstairs.

With WAN, you could speak to and see your working buddy in your New
York office from LA. (Hopefully at 30 fps on twisted pair)

If SEXI truly can accomplish this, they would be GOD. No one has videoconferencing at 30 fps colr quality over twisted pair. My only
concern is timing. If getting these results means integrating the use of xDSL, then belive me when I say every other company doing videoconferencing will have a 30fps solution.

The key here seems to be compression technology. Past posters have mentioned visits to SEXI's headquarters. They have said that SEXI is working on IMPROVING the system and the SOFTWARE. Transfer rates over regular phone lines comes down to compression. If SEXI is working on
a solution using xDSL, they are designing their HARDWARE to work with
this new compression tech that is available to all other companies. The other and better possibiliy, is that SEXI is developing a compression standard of their own. If SEXI develops a system using their own compression standard that is capable of delivering a 30 fps solution over twisted pair, then we are sitting on a potential goldmine.

This is why I want specific specs. So far No one, including any visitors to the office can give me specifics about the systems they are developing (The Software, camera and CARD)

By the way, there has been mentioned that Lucent technologies might be in a deal with SEXI (REMEMBER: This is a rumour) This would be awesome. Why? John Young, The newly assigned CEO to Novell is also
sitting on the board at Lucent. Novell is King in Networking software and AT&T knows it. That's probaly why Lucent picked him
up. John used to be a former CEO for HP.
