At long, last.,it is good to see some live-wire posts on this thread.
Years ago, and I hope this proves to be ON TOPIC, the Cincinnati Reds had a catcher, slugger Ernie Lombardi, who was a notorious slow base-runner. One day he hit a tremdous blast to the opposite field, as he puffed into first base(as far as he got) the annoucer stated::" Ernie Lombardi has just stretched a triple into a single.."
I am glad to see that SNRS is a Mickey Mantle type ( substitute a fast runner of your choice ) runner as I have a few in my collection that died at the plate...but as Nanny has stated, somewhere down the line, we should expect a pull-back, which would be heathy for the stock and our collective blood-pressures...in the meantime, let us enjoy this day!!!.......nysebob2 |
