Shalom, it is common knowledge that the tribes inhabiting the Holy Land at the time Jesus is said to have been born were dark-skinned. I am quite surprised that you are not aware of this. Are you under the impression that God thunder-bolted a white-skinned, blue-eyed Jesus down in the midst of these people? I don't think so!!
It is human nature for religious people to want to worship deities that look like them, just as small children often want to play with dolls who look like them. But at the same time we can all understand how people would feel that way about Jesus, and change his physical characteristics to match theirs, I think it is important to realize that the historical reality is totally different, and that Jesus was a brown person.
Does this make a difference to you? Would you not idolize him unless you believed he was a white guy? I would note, in particular, the utter absurdity, and real evil, of white people in the Ku Klux Klan, the militia movement, and all the other hate groups, who burn crosses on blacks' lawns, and generally discriminate, terrorize and oppress people of color in the name of Christ, who was not white at all.
I will give you two url's to look at, but I can tell from your recent posts that your mind is closed. Do you just read one version of the Bible for information? In the search I did about Jesus' race, I found several books at Amazon.com, written by Christian theologians, debating whether Jesus actually existed, or was a legend, for example. Obviously his teachings of love and tolerance have survived, and that is good, but he does not have to have existed in reality to have accomplished that.
What I am trying to say is that many Christians do not freeze themselves in a time two thousand years ago, when much was still to be discovered, and consider every word in the Bible the absolute truth and reality, nor do they live with blinders on. Many Christians can accept that Jesus may have been a mythological or legendary character, in fact, because what is important is that his teachings were handed down to help people today who still believe in him. But if he did really live, Shalom, he was definitely a man of color.

Additionally, I am still waiting for you to apologize for damaging my reputation by stating that I gave you pornographic url's to look at, when I did nothing of the kind. It is strange that a Christian like you would act in such a seemingly dishonest manner. I am very puzzled. |
