LoD,

I have a GTW (before I joined thread) and have to say that I have had excellent service. I have a lot of friends that have both DELL and GTW computers. Both companies have performed very well in the support area. My GTW uses an Intel chipset, and it may even be an Intel board!

Even though it was purchased in July of 1966, it has 64M SDRAM, 2 PCI controllers (which I use when running NT in 'mirror' mode) and a compliment of other inserts, like DirecPC (dish) and All-In-Wonder video card. I have found that neither DELL or GTW have enough expansion slots, as a matter of fact, I haven't found any motherboard with enough slots!

While DELL's manufacturing 'model' is the best in the industry, GTW does not have the 'channe' problems the some of the others do. IMHO, GTW has the potential to be very competitive, at least in the domestic market. I don't think that they really have an overseas presence yet.

You might be interested that in the 'short term past', GTW is outperforming DELL. Personally I expect that may change when the Q results are announced, but it is an interesting observation! ( Yes, I have a position in both DELL and GTW, however, as of market close 3/30/98, I show DELL as a SELL and GTW and a BUY! I have not decided to take 'my own advice' at this point, due to DELLs stellar performance!)

>>>>Service policy, service process, reliability, timeliness of components, delivery, price, and the GTW would come "in a box that looks like a cow"...wow!<<<<

Your comment appears as a bit of a 'hip-shot', although you may have had a different experience with GTW that I have!

Regards,

Ken
