I noticed that you graduated in Melbourne, and so are pretty familiar with Australia. I am particularly interested in the Y2K problem, and investing in companies providing a solution. I also see from your company's name that you may have some interest here too. I think there is a substantial opportunity for investment in Y2K solution providers, and am well invested in a Vancouver company, Group West(GPW.v) that will probably list there soon in Toronto, and probably later this year on whatever grows out of the union of the Amex and Nasdaq. Other Canadian companies I have followed are CGI Systems and Cognicase. In researching the Y2K problem, I noticed that Australia was one of the few other countries where there was a current awareness of the urgency of this problem. I wonder if you are aware of Australian companies like some of the ones I mention, that are currently underpriced and underappreciated, that might be investment candidates? - or if a number of people would like to share the research effort on this thread? If you are not already a member, you can join Stockhouse and get Australian stock quotes, if you like. I'm not very knowledgeable about Australian tech stocks, as yet, and I wouldn't have time to do all the research myself, but if we all had a quick look for such stocks in Australia, we might be able to put our heads together and come up with a Y2K winner . . . comments? |
