It would be interesting to know how Nichia's GaN LED sales break down between green and blue, since Cree currently only sells blue. It would also be interesting to know Nichia's unit volumes, given its higher selling price. Without those numbers it would appear apples-to-apples comparisons are not possible.

Sounds like you have an inside track at Nichia. Do you know what they are asking for the DVD lasers and whether the reliability and other specs are really suited for that application?
