I did some number crunching regarding VSH's recent purchase
of Temi, and the deal appears to be a steal. VSH's 80%
stake of SILI is valued at 340 million (SILI's market value
is 417 million). Sili has about 220 mil. in annual sales
The total cost of Temic's business was about 360 million to VSH. The total sales of the Temic business acquired minus the Atmel sales is $550 mil. 550 mil minus 220 mil is 330 million. On paper, VSH
will have an additional 330 million in sales, which was purchased
at 20 million (340 for the SILI stake plus 20 mill. for the other businesses). Unbelieveable! As we discussed, SILI is the gem, and they received the other businesses for free! I don't know
the quality of the other businesses, but even if shoddy, VSH can manage them much better than Daimer Benz. If this 330 million segment is even slightly profitable, VSH is sure to take off. When word of this gets out during the annual meeting analysts are sure to be pleased.
