Bigotry
or
If you are like me

Then bigots probably bother you.

Priests like Jim Jones and Ayatollah Khomeini are moral if not religious equivalents. (One guilty of murder, the other guilty of murder, kidnapping, terrorism, both justified entirely by books and belief) When you cling to things in light of all reason, you are a bigot. A good example of bigotry is believing that the charge of criminal negligence recently supported against Red Cross had any religious connotations. Directors who knew that blood was tainted, and let it pass, are criminally negligent. It is clear that criminal, rational, moral and religious acts are related in some minds, but they are distinct, ask any Muslim or Deist, or a good lawyer for that matter. Bigot is a word, not because there are none, but because they can be be recognized.

bigot - a person obstinately and unreasonably wedded to a particular religious creed, opinion or ritual.
