Wouldn't worry about it, this waste stream will be around for a while. I'm sure, as untenable as a disposal solution of nuclear waste is, gov't is having an even harder time trying to commit to a solution. Not too much tolerance for solutions anything less than 100%... LNXI PR looks like a good move for them. Storage/reaction vessels? Would love to dig into the material performance to radioactive substances...bound to be much info on silicon nitride & carbide. Coming from Hercules is a plus, as they're the one's who generated the stuff to begin with. A call to their techies would do wonders for determining the coatings' abilities/potential.
