Well that was a helluva lecture to wake up too at 5 AM.

I'm more concern with the overall market and do believe a correction is near. That being the case, it probably will hit QCOM during the process.

As to what you are saying, I tend to agree with you. If I have a gripe about Dr. Jacobs, he just too forthcoming and honest. To have had the early forecast was to say the least, unusual. As to the why of the gripe, albeit there was an impact from Asia, it appears to not be as bad. I suppose you can say it was smart to overstate things with the ultimate results to appear glowing in retrospect.

As to the "NEW AND IMPROVED CDMA........ I have never been much to talk about it one way or the other, except that CDMA is CDMA is CDMA is CDMA. Walks like a duck, quack like a duck, swims like a duck...... it's a cat???
Just like GSM supposed greatness, it's still TDMA. You can tweak it anyway you want, but it's still TDMA. You can modify it all you want, but it still good ole TDMA. Ericsson may confuse the issue and the investment community about CDMA, but it NEVER has washed with myself. To truly sidestep QCOM IPR's will be a neat trick, but it can be done. Problem is you already have at hand resolution to problems of delivering digital mobile telephony that works, why delay deployment over the issue of IPR by reinventing the pencil? Or is Ericsson attempting to reap some royalties themselves? Are they SO wonderful that they are turning over all their hard work to humanity for free?? That being the case then why sue??
