Lou,

You stated: "It is much easier to ask tuff questions on the open board than to do ones own DD. What really cracks me up is that people want to ask the tuff ?'s but don't want to spend the $$$ to get the tuff answers".

I can't relate to this position at all. You and Joe Medsker seem to think talking to the CEO of a company is doing DD. You also imply people don't want to spend money (presumably for a phone call) to get their questions answered (?!?). To me this is equivalent to suggesting we call the owner of a used car lot to get the "real scoop" before buying a used car. Do you think he would tell me the car stinks (which I would interpret as a "tuff answer")? I doubt it. Wouldn't it be better to *independently* do some research into things like whether it's a good year and model of car, what equivalent cars cost, maybe get a mechanic to look at it, etc., etc. Wouldn't knowing what questions to ask and who to ask to independently research the issues amount to better DD than calling the owner of the lot?

If I felt I could get all my questions answered with a phone call, I would!!! I would (still), however, be reluctant to call the CEO of a company if I thought he should have much more important things to do than hold my (and other shareholder's) hands. I'd much rather see if I could get adequate answers from an IR department who's job is interfacing with shareholders.

Dan
