While we are speaking on the subject of the DNAnalzyer, I do trust that people know that it is currently installed in about 15 sites around the world. This information has been given out by the company and I wouldn't call it a secret. Sometime around the end of the year I would expect some clinical results on the effectiveness of the units by the likes of Johns Hopkins. Industry acceptance is the name of the game. If it you want acceptance, you first start with the best. Once the leaders accept it, all the other sheep fall into line. Gopher also mentioned to me that there's interest in the deserts, among all the oil fields.
Doc is hearing that LazerTek will not be part of the company. No further details on that. They may collaborate, but at this point it looks as though the two companies shall remain separate. Captain Stubing is encouraged to hear that the number of shares are about to reduce direction, ending a very disturbing trend.
Captain Stubing took a little heat tonight from some people. Which is entirely fine, because I don't mind dishing it out either. I see this post board as very counterproductive, and while I admit this situation certainly sucks, I don't see the point of endlessly bashing the company. I suppose if it's to release stress then fine, but it really doesn't add much of value. Instead of all the whining, perhaps that same effort could be put into re-focusing on videoconferencing technology. I'm seeing posts on here that claim 30fps is impossible, or that SEXI has no WAN solution. Some research into competitors might shed light upon this. Just add some ISDN lines and just about anybody can get 30fps. Similarly, all SEXI really needs to do to have a "WAN solution" is installation of ISDN lines and a codec. Nutcracker is 100% accurate when he says the company is working on configuring the systems so that everything runs right from the desktop. "Point and click" is a good word to describe the goals. "Technology for idiots". Just click on your destination and suddenly you are linked to them. They are also working on software programs that will enhance the system as well. You might also want to ask why engineers from SAIC are continually at the Virginia office. Again, a visit to the SAIC website will refresh your memory as to what that company does. These are some very sophisicated systems they are working on, so to say the technology stinks at this point in Captain Stubing's opinion is plain foolhardy.
If you must vent your anger, please direct it towards Captain Stubing. I'm a little more brash than Captain Nutcracker and Co-Pilot Ballbuster, but you don't become King of the Cruise Ships by being a nice guy. You have opportunities to visit the company in Virginia, and also to attend a trade show or two. Not everyone will be able to go, but I must believe there are some individuals up to the task. Doc maintains that the technology is there. Not it is up to us to figure out where it stands.
Incidently, Gopher has been doing property searches in the Caribbean, and has stumbled across some valuable information that will be turned into the SEC. We may not be able to get all the villains, but we can definitely cook somebody's goose. |
