Thank you for the explanation, Jeffry. Certainly all those emotions (doubt, suspicion, hope, greed, fear) fuel all speculative investments. I know from your response that you understand my curiousity.
I think Levine is right in checking with lawyer and accountant on the deal, even if it delays things a bit. It's another assurance that the deal won't fall apart later. But it is curious that Bruss feels he knows more about the deal than Levine in terms of timing. (Obviously, either Bruss was wrong in that assumption or the letter of intent has been signed, but not publicized for some (strange) reason.) (Another point of interest is that he's confused Tom Kosta's last name with the name of the company, which is Kostech.) I would like to get more information from Tom, but, obviously, if he's tightly involved with the company at this point, it could be considered insider information.
Perhaps the thing to do at this point would be to ask Levine what Bruss' involvement is the next time you speak with him. That might prove interesting as well.
I'm not sure why you were uncomfortable in revealing your source of information at the time. Certainly in hindsight, it probably would have been better for you to be up front about it. Regardless, though, I still feel this company has a lot going for it and have the patience to wait (no matter how crazy it makes me :-). I think eventually it will be "discovered" and our patience will be rewarded. |
