Patrick, It's not the clubs.
When I was in 8th grade I made the Varsity Golf Team,
I had a handicap of ~11, with Chi Chi K-Mark Specials.

Today its ~10 with Tom Armour knockoffs &
Taylor Made Tour Burners and playing only a handfull of times/year.

Sounds like you're switching clubs way too often....
use them and bond with them like a good woman.
