This is the kind of stuff that really annoys me about readware.

The one link that works of the two he provides is to this puff piece that give no real supporting evidence and only a single paragraph about the market, almost all conclusions. If Valueman posted to this forum that he believed there would be 500 million people using MSS systems in 2004, then I would give that opinion just as much weight as this "study" readware is citing.

As to the other 6, one the link was broken and for 5 of them there is no way to get access to the reports to find out if their "study" is at all scientific or not.

From prior experience I feel confident in saying that you can find a study that says whatever you want-- Contrary to what Readware says, these people DO have a financial stake in their conclusions-- they are paid to come to them. (Everyone in the technology industry knows this, but they are highly useful for PR and so everybody keeps commissioning studies.)

As independant investors we have to look at facts. The size of Inmarsat's market is a fact. It should carry a lot more weight than anybody's studies.

Despite that fact, I believe that there will be a big market for this type of service. But, just like PRICE WATERHOUSE, et. al. I am pulling that market estimate out of the air!
