I did a quick web search, Duncan, and found page after page which cited that somewhere between twelve and fifteen million American children are going hungry. Here are some more interesting web pages. The most crucial to this discussion is the first one, from the American Academy of Pediatrics, which documents how hungry children are children at the highest risk for long-term psychological and educational deficits. Is it your goal to create yet another generation of dysfunctional children, the ones who grow up to be criminals, and become marginal parents who tend to neglect and abuse their own children? Do you understand that the future of a society is its children, all of its children?
