Read the release carefully - between the lines.

Global did all it could to cut it's costs in modem business.

Made progress but still could not make money and realized they never would.

Working on new business, but not enough cash to actualize. Buyers??? nNo buyers for GVIL - THIS INCLUDES APPLE.

Solution - grab whatever cash available and attempt to create a new startup (new symbol) with 50 employees.
