Hello Jurgen,

MACD (13-34-89) is a fantastic Indicator and one that will never hurt you... In Fact, I have a template set up in MSWIN with three MACD's, (13-34-89), (8-17-9), and (12-26-89). When all three of them are in sync, watch out......

I do not watch the major indices but if I did I would use either MACD (13-34-89) or Dahl.

As far as Volume, always look at PRICE first. As they always say, there are three things in trading, Price, Price, and Price....

If you really need to look at Volume try a 40-day MA on On Balance Volume (OBV), with the long signal being the OBV cross up through the 40 MA.
