A new report on silver batteries was in the news recently. we took it upon ourselves to investigate, see answer below

Thank you for your inquiry. Silver Zinc cells could be use for your
application, however it would not be cost effective and the life time of
such batteries would be much less than the conventional nickel or lithium
batteries.

We currently are in development of lithium ion batteries which will
ideally be used for such applications. Currently the Asian battery
companies are dominating this market.
We have been awarded several Gov't contracts to develop this technology.

Best regards,

Hello, Would you please let us know if the silver cell is good in applications such as
cellular phones or laptop computers. So far we have conflicting stories, one pro
one con , please advise if possible.

This of course is from a battery developer and should know the subject well. We are still bullish on silver but thought this might generate some thoughtful discussion. BTW another poster wanted to know price of silver for 1998, of course none of us know but I will say that CPM group has stated 6.50 will be the AVERAGE price for all of 1998, take that for what it is worth.
