At least its only rain by the time it downslopes to us.

Rman hit the nail on the head when he spoke of transgenics cos. streamlining development times, but I think it applies to much more broadly than transgenics. IMHO, the big evolution in biotech/pharma going into the next millennium is going to be the economization and acceleration of lead and clinical development efforts. This is going to take advances in numerous areas and significant organizational rethought, but the players who first put this together IMO should win BIG. Now, the trick for us as long-term investors (as anyone left in this sector must now honestly consider themselves) is to figure out which companies will provide the pieces that those players will need.
